Complaints

The Young People’s Academy wishes to communicate effectively with our parents, students and wider community. However, we accept that we can on occasion make mistakes or fail to communicate as well as we would wish.

The Young People’s Academy is committed to dealing with complaints promptly, fairly and carefully. We encourage parents, carers and other members of the school community to raise (on an informal basis) any concerns they have at the earliest opportunity. In most instances, this will involve speaking directly with the member of staff concerned, who will try to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

You can get in touch with us in the following ways:

  • By letter – Young People’s Academy, Falling Lane, Yiewsley, West Drayton, Middlesex UB7 8AB
  • By email – info@ypacademy.org.uk
  • By telephone  – 01895 446 747
  • Or in person, after making an appointment

When you get in touch, please remember that we need to know what has happened, when it took place, who was involved and what you would like us to do to resolve the issue. If you require assistance in raising your complaint please let the school know so we can put in place appropriate arrangements to support you throughout the complaints process.

If you remain dissatisfied, the school has a formal Complaints Policy which sets out a structure under which your complaint can be heard.  You can access the policy by clicking the link below; alternatively, a hard copy can be obtained from the school office.

Complaints Policy

In the first instance all complaints should be brought to the attention of the Executive Principal, Ms Laurie Cornwell Tel: 020   8397 2672 or Email: Lcornwell@ypacademy.org.uk

Or alternatively, if the complaint is with reference to the Executive Principal the complaint should be made to John Prior, Executive Head (Quality and Learning Support)/Deputy CEO, Orchard Hill College Academy Trust, Quadrant House, 8th Floor The Quadrant, Sutton SM2 5AS

YPA has a good understanding and built a rapport with my son. He has been happy and well cared for to the point where he has met his full potential and thrived. The right balance and structure has provided for my son’s complex needs. Thank you for your continuous support.  Parent
