Children’s Mental Health Week

As part of Children’s Mental Health Week, students and staff took time to reflect on the busy few months we have had at YPA.

Both on-line and off-line learners took a day away from their screens to explore new ways to learn and think. The Remote Learning Team accessed a variety of wellbeing activities, ranging from a mindfulness workshop to an introduction to yoga and strategies to manage emotions such as ‘journaling’. All activities were very well received and appreciated as a welcome distraction from screen time by all.
The on-site students engaged in equal fun as they joined Mrs Izard to learn how to make her mother’s curry, tied knots around Ms Thomas with friendship bracelets (teaching Mrs Brookes in the process) and made fantastic bird-feeder creations.
The day was a huge success and we all walked away with a new skill acquired…
