Two Year 10 students from YPA, George and Tayvon, recently graduated from the London Fire Brigade’s Local Intervention Fire Education (LIFE) course. This is an interactive experience for young people who have faced challenges, to learn transferable skills through fire fighting activities.
The boys spent 4 days at Wembley fire station undertaking a variety of duties and training exercises to replicate the working week of a fire fighter. Both boys successfully ‘passed out’ and received their certificates at the Passing Out ceremony.
The school had further reason to celebrate when George received the Jack Petchey award for the most outstanding student on the course, as voted for by his peers.
A fantastic achievement. Well done boys!
