World Book Day!

Pupils from YPA celebrated World Book Week and got very involved with the theme ‘share a story.’ Throughout the week the pupils put a great deal of effort into writing stories that were then shared with the rest of the school.

The winner was George in Year 10 who wrote a brilliant story called Bob the Boxer. Our runner up Joe, who is also from Year 10, wrote an excellent story called The Boy who got a Surprise. The two won a selection of book-inspired treats from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Harry Potter.

Not only did the pupils write great stories, they also participated in the costume competition along with our staff team. There were some superb costumes from a variety of stories. The student winner was Kieran from Year 8 who was dressed as Shmuel from The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. The staff winner was Miss Carless the English teacher who was dressed as Lara Croft from Tomb Raider. The winner of the costume competition won a well-deserved £15 gift card.

Overall both the students and staff got very involved and enjoyed the week of celebrations!

YPA has a good understanding and built a rapport with my son. He has been happy and well cared for to the point where he has met his full potential and thrived. The right balance and structure has provided for my son’s complex needs. Thank you for your continuous support.  Parent
